Dutch Movie Night at the European Union Film Festival (EUFF)

Canadian premiere of A Noble Intention. The movie (in Dutch with sub-titles) is “Publieke Werken” by Director Mr. Joram Lürsen – but the English title is different: “A Noble Intention”

1888: Vedder has to step aside when his home must yield for the planned Victoria Hotel. His cousin Anijs, pharmacist, has gotten into a fix after illegal medical practices and is looking for a way out. For himself and his wife but also for some peat cutters whom he promises a future in the United States. Committed – or is it pride? – the two of them think up a scheme from which they all will fully benefit.

There will be an introduction by the Consul General of the Netherlands, Mr. Anne van Leeuwen and Director Joram Lürsen will also be present. After the screening he is available for a Q&A.

Joram Lürsen will also participate in a round table event on the theme: “What makes a film European.” This event takes place on Saturday, November 12th, starting at 4:00 pm at The Royal Theatre (608 College Street, Toronto)
